February in the Garden

I spent yesterday afternoon in our garden, giving the flower beds a dressing of manure.  Mostly it was dry, but I did get a little wet and muddy as we had a few showers of rain!
This morning the sun was shining, so I nipped outside to photograph the flowers that have opened.
This month there are lots of crocuses in bloom,

with a sprinkling of snowdrops.
The purple wood anemones are open.
The polyanthus are trying to flower, but those pesky snails keep eating them!  They are also nibbling my daffodil buds!!!
The primroses are looking a little bedraggled,
but the bergenia doesn't seem to mind the rain.
Which is a good job as we have just had another heavy shower!

So pretty! Many of ours were burned by the cold weather that the only flowers we have right now are Daffodils and Hyacinths.

Hi Janet, Such a shame about your flowers. We have had a mild, but very wet winter here. Our daffodils and hyacinths are in bud still, but the snails are eating them! Grrrr!
Best wishes, Pj x
